Tale between my legs….
For some January is a time for a reflection on previous years and distinct goals. Perhaps getting back to work after the holiday season. For some even, January is all about shopping. One thing I didn’t expect January to ever be connected to was blogging.
Over a year ago I attempted to post a well thought out and directed photograph, along with a bonus blurb to explain whats fuelled me to create the image. What I created however, was a 6 month public diary, that astoundingly got evermore popular as the months went on and my own New Years resolutions of shooting more, thinking less became forgotten.
I eventually left Tumblr convincing myself that if I took the social networking aspect of blogging out of the situation I would work harder, write more creatively and make work I could be more proud to show off rather than filling a daily slot created by this 365 project.
So with apologetic tones flowing from my well rested fingertips, I post what appears to be my first direct post to Tumblr in over 5 months. I’ve lurked in the background of my dashboard and read a lot of posts from people I follow. I’ve also often posted what would’ve been prime tumblr material on my wordpress blog hoping the more formal approach to blogging Wordpress has would rub off onto that of my own slightly more in-formal nature.
But as I said earlier.. I’m not one for New Years resolution. So ironically this years resolution is exactly the same as last years. Post to Tumblr more often. Only this time, I’m not promising a post every day, or even every week. I’m not promising this will be filled with my own photography, or even my own words. What I can promise however is that over the next few months my current rate of posting will improve. I will once again construct overly elaborate sentences in a self-justifying biography for the world wide web.
And with the past few months spent lurking other peoples blogs, I feel I’ve got the nack of how Tumblr, and blogging in a social networking atmosphere generally work…

Don’t say my post wasn’t worth reading now…..
